Matthew 21:8-9, presents a moment in the life and ministry of Jesus, we see a large crowd spreading their cloaks on the road and others cutting branches from trees to lay before Jesus, creating a path for His arrival. “Hosanna” means “save now” or “save us, we pray” signaling the crowd’s hope that Jesus, the long-awaited Messiah, would bring salvation to Israel. This was a prelude to the ultimate sacrifice Jesus would make for the salvation of the world!
