Jesus shares a parable about a rich man who lived in a life of luxury and a poor man named Lazarus who suffered at his gate (Luke 16:19-31). The rich man's heart was untouched by the suffering at his doorstep. His sin wasn’t his wealth --it was that he ignored Lazarus. This parable is ultimately a call to live with spiritual sight—to see the Lazaruses in our midst and respond with the mercy God desires.
